The European Ranger Federation (ERF) in cooperation with SMART (Spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool) in the period from September 30 to October 4, 2024, organized training for rangers in Ohrid. Rangers from Galicica National Park also took part in this training.

As part of this training, ERF and SMART held lectures for rangers and managers of protected areas on monitoring and protection of biodiversity using cutting-edge technology, reporting, deepening the knowledge of the ranger service for nature protection, practical exercises through case studies as well as expanding SMART’s global network.

In the premises of the Galicica National Park, a presentation was held on the values ​​of the park, after which a discussion was opened on the challenges in the field of nature protection and the functioning of the park.

After the visit to the info center of PIGNP Ohrid, the participants went to field work through a practical exercise at several localities in the Galicica National Park.
