Samotska dupka Cave

Details

There are about ten underground rocky shapes - caves and precipices in the Park. The Samotska Dupka Cave is the largest cave in the Galicica National Park. It is located on the eastern side of the of Studino rocky valley, in the upper part of а smaller rocky dale that runs transversely toward Studino. The cave entrance is built at the foot of a compact rocky section and it’s 10 m high. The cave entrance is 3 m wide and 1.2 m high. The total length of the cave, together with the adjacent cave channels, is 224 m. An underground river once passed through the Samotska dupka. There are cave ornaments and decorations ("salvi"), draperies and cave pearls, but stalactites and stalagmites are very rare.
