It belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family or popularly known as spurge. They are succulent plants with fleshy leaves that contain spurge ducts in the stalk. They grow up to 30 cm, with spirally distributed leaves, and the inflorescence is yellow. The liquid (spurge) they contain can cause skin irritation. They are found in south-eastern Europe, Asia Minor, Italy, the Balkans, Crimea and Turkey. It is widespread and often found in the Galichica National Park.
