Common juniper (Juniperus communis) – conifer species of the cypress family (Cupressaceae).
Juniperus communis has needle-like leaves in whorls of three, with light green colour in young species to dark green in older. Male and female stems differ. The fruits are juicy cones that mature after two years of flowering.
In the first year, the fruits are ovoid and green, and in the second year they are round and pale purple in colour. It grows on rocky terrains, sunny and dry places, like a small tree or shrub.
